A learning environment, not an AI journal
Many people land here from “AI journal” or “AI journaling app” searches. Those products often mean mood logs, therapy prompts, or meeting notes. Reflexive is narrower: you work on a topic over weeks — course, thesis, side project — in short notes; AI helps you connect, diagram, and revisit without replacing your conclusion.
What to capture before opening AI
Start with three raw notes in your own words — one idea per entry. Example for a course project:
Sample notes
10:14 — Topic "sustainable cities" is too broad; need a narrow angle. 10:32 — Compare two districts on transit vs green space — measurable in a week. 11:08 — Worry: open emissions data may be missing; need a backup metric.
Three AI moments that actually help
- Clarifying question — select notes, ask what contradicts or what is missing.
- Connection diagram — smart mode links meaning; literal mode is one block per note.
- Session brief — synthesis plus study terms you can edit; model suggestions are labeled separately.
What to refuse
- “Write my journal for today” with no prior notes — you will not remember the conclusion.
- Treating the first model paragraph as final — if you cannot paraphrase it, it is not yours.
- AI diary apps built for therapy or meeting minutes when your job is learning a topic or shipping a project.
A one-week loop
- Mon–Wed: stream short notes on one thread (branch).
- Thu: diagram from selected notes + one agent question.
- Fri: four reflection prompts (see RU template article) or edit the auto session brief.
Sample notes are a demo scenario, not a customer story. URL keeps “ai-journaling” for search discovery; the product positioning is a learning workspace.
